Help Support the USC Ice Girls
Your generosity makes a difference!

Established in Fall of 2010, the USC Ice Girls is a student-organized, self-funded spirit squad that operates as part of the USC men's ice hockey team. Along with supporting USC Ice Hockey at their games, our Ice Girls make appearances at various alumni, community, special and philanthropic events throughout the year, mostly in the Greater Los Angeles area.

A common misconception is that the University heavily funds student organizations; while true in many cases, the hockey team has one of the largest budgets of any student organization on campus. In reality the University support, while generous, is a mere modicum of what the hockey team requires, and covered less than 4% of the team's costs last season. The Ice Girls' strategic plan for making up their cost difference includes:

• The tax-deductible gifts of our individual donors and supporters;
  
• Corporate sponsors and partners who believe in the name and reputation of the Ice Girls;
  
• Appearances at individual and group events that demand that touch of Trojan Spirit; and
  
• Fundrasing activities to make up for the expenses not covered by other sources.

The vast majority of costs are covered through the generosity of our donors, for which we are deeply thankful. In addition, the support from our partners and sponsors help generate further revenue that is used by the USC Ice Girls for uniforms, equipment, gear, ice time, Internet presence, and other expenses. Even our entire staff of coaches, managers, and medical personnel volunteer their time and pay for their own expenses.

Despite of all our generous support, it is still necessary for our Ice Girls to pay sizeable dues to participate. As one would imagine, this can put quite a strain on a student's budget, but our Girls find a way because they are passionate about supporting the hockey team, showing their Trojan Spirit and representing USC.

For this first full season for the Ice Girls, our estimated costs are approximately $10,000.

While we are a very new squad, the USC Ice Girls have already drawn local and national attention for their uniqueness of their presentation... not quite a figure skating group, but more than just cheerleaders on skates. To help further establish this new USC tradition, we would greatly appreciate your consideration of a financial gift or material support. No amount is too small, and we are thankful for generous gifts of every size and amount... every dollar raised is one less dollar our Girls have to cover themselves, and also allows our Ice Girls more opportunities to engage in community outreach and philathropy.

Additionally, as part of the University of Southern California, we are classified as a 501(c)(3) non-profit organization, so any gift is TAX-DEDUCTIBLE (USC's Tax ID Number is 95-1642394).
